PWR!Moves® Group Exercise Classes

Created by Dr. Becky G. Farley, the founder of Parkinson Wellness Recovery (PWR!), This is a Parkinson-specific exercise class that “makes function exercise” to keep you moving and doing more of what you want to do! As you practice, you will be challenged physically and cognitively while working on fitness goals: strength, balance, agility, aerobics, and flexibility. Exercises are designed to improve your fitness, counteract your PD symptoms and increase your daily activity. This whole body, function-focused exercise class will push you to do more than you think you can in a fun, empowering, and enriched environment!.

Exercises are adjustable and low-impact, allowing participants to control intensity while improving confidence in everyday movements. The class emphasizes functional strength, posture, and stability in a supportive, encouraging environment.

Full Body Fitness: Stroke & MS Focus

This full-body class is designed specifically for individuals with a history of stroke or multiple sclerosis, addressing common asymmetries and movement challenges. Exercises emphasize unilateral training, allowing each side of the body to work independently for more balanced strength and control. The class supports improved endurance, balance, and flexibility while respecting fatigue levels and neurological considerations.

  • Good for: Individuals with stroke, multiple sclerosis (MS), and other neurological conditions causing one-sided weakness or imbalance

  • Focus: Unilateral strength training, endurance, balance, and flexibility to improve symmetry and function

  • Benefits: Helps address side-to-side differences, supports safer movement patterns, and enhances overall functional independence

This class offers a well-rounded workout focused on maintaining strength, endurance, balance, and flexibility for everyday life. Movements are functional, low-impact, and adaptable, making the class accessible while still providing an effective challenge. • Good for: Older adults; individuals experiencing age-related changes in strength, balance, or mobility; anyone seeking general fitness

  • Focus: Full-body strength, cardiovascular endurance, balance, and flexibility

  • Benefits: Supports independence, improves energy and mobility, and helps reduce the risk of falls while promoting overall wellness

Floor Strength

This class focuses on building full-body strength using exercises performed entirely on the floor. Movements are controlled, supported, and adaptable, making the class especially appropriate for individuals who have difficulty tolerating upright exercise. Emphasis is placed on core stability, strength, and safe movement transitions.

  • Good for: Individuals with POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome); those who experience dizziness or fatigue with standing exercise; older adults needing low-impact options

  • Focus: Floor-based strength training, core stability, and controlled movement
